Human sexuality is one of the greatest gifts of life.

Learning to express our unique sexual nature is something we are not encouraged to do, yet it is vital for our own wholeness that we learn the art and embrace our sexualilty.

Sexuality and Shadow

Whatever exploration to which we assign value, to which we add intention, choice, presence and purpose, that exploration becomes elevated, meaningful beautiful – Sacred.

Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. Yet to penetrate the darkness we must summon all the powers of enlightenment that consciousness can offer ( Carl Jung)

Often going through pain becomes the access to pleasure; it becomes a question of degree and the intention behind the exploration.
In search for our own authenticity and wholeness, our shadow needs to be invited in. When one learns to embrace their shadow and integrate into their lives, completeness of self is achieved. The more we repress, ignore and make excuses for those parts of us that we believe to be dysfunctional the more intense and destructive our shadow side becomes.

If we consider our sexuality, those desires, fantasises that creep into the dark corners of our minds, which we judge feel ashamed about and therefore deny, the more power they hold over us and eventually cause us to express our sexual nature from a dysfunctional standpoint. For many our wounds are rooted deep within our sexuality, society, cultural influences, how our parents view sexuality contribute to how we grow as adults and express ourselves sexually.

In today’s society we cannot escape the emphasis on sex, it is in everything from selling coca cola to the family car, it is portrayed in a pornographic framework, that is that it creates a believe in the psyche that if we do not possess attain these things there is something fundamentally wrong with us, we will not be accepted in this world keeping up with the Jones concept.

Eroticism has seemly been lost; the subtle nuances no longer exist therefore creating this world of economic and functional wealth. For some like myself the beauty and depth of sex, sexual expression and a relationship with the Deep Mystery still burns deep within our bellies.  The majority of human beings still see their sexuality as flawed something to be hidden away and only expressed in small acceptable ways. If we seek to experiment to engage in ‘unnormal’ sexual practices such as BDSM, we are judged, criticised accused of been sexually dysfunctional, but what is normal about been in a monogamous relationship where neither partner is truly expressing embracing their full sexual nature. The husband or wife that seeks sexual gratification, by having an affair, paying for sex, would it not make more sense for those in relationships that are sexually unfulfilling to ask why they are that way, what needs are not been met, why do they seek deep pleasure outside of the relationship outside of themselves????

Human sexuality is still a deep mystery and I believe always will be, we are complex beings, our soul craves and seeks out deep pleasure in life and when we do not embrace and welcome our shadow side into play the desires and actions we portray act out in ways of anger, violence, manipulation, hatred and collectively these emotions fester and end playing out in inhumane atrocities such as paedophilia, sex crimes, murder etc etc..
Is it normal for a human being to deny their sexual nature, to lock it away and never experience deep pleasure of sexual expression, of course not, the more something is denied the more control it has over ones life. When we learn and accept our own sexual nature we have a choice on if we act out our desires psychically or find other ways to express that powerful life force within.

Deep passionate living

Life is but a contradiction, the way we should behave the way we should be, so as we find a place to fit in. Yet this is how we become separate from life, when we can see ourselves albeit as a reflection within others and acknowledge that it is ourselves we see we can begin to heal..  Allowing ourselves to move through this mystical world and own who we truly our takes courage, we may feel alone and in truth we are alone, but in the aloneness is our completeness.

Despair guilt, passion, lust, love, sadness all have their parts to play within us, this is what helps us see who we really are and to go beyond and fully experience life, the secret is to allow all our emotions to move within us, not try and organise into logically thinking, or to judge, just to let them sit and watch ourselves in each moment that passes nothing needs resolving nothing needs fixing, we are complex beings with depth far beyond what we have imagined and allowing ourselves to delve deep within our soul transcends us.

Esensual wholeness

One of the hardest tasks for us as human beings is to face ourselves, to see our flaws along with what we like about ourselves.  To live an authentic life one needs to own their behaviours in life, to admit when we are using manipulation unconsciously to attempt to get what we desire from another.  When we own those dysfunctional behaviours  and catch ourselves, we can become more aware of what it is we are really wanting and deepen our relationships with those whom we love and interact with.This does not mean we will not face rejection, or avoid pain or dissapointemnt in our lives, what it means is that we become more conscious and responsible for the actions we chose to take , bringing us closer to a more authentic truer self.

When one realises that the sacred is in the ordinary, one can let go of trying to make everything perfect. You do not need lavish clothing or materials to be the sexual being you are. They may make you feel good for a short time, yet in truth they are a mask. in today's society the emphasis is on the glamarous, on how much income you make but as the saying goes money cannot but love or happiness.  Love and happiness can only be achieved truly when you find peace within yourself and learn to integrate your shadow into your whole being.

 For human beings, our sexuality which encapsulates sex, desires and love and which is a fundamental part of life, reaches deep down into the core of our being.  We love life, and through our sexuality we find an expression of both our love and our life.  Likewise, our life was conceived from sex, and the sexual act in human beings is most meaningful as an expression of love.  Indeed, for human beings, sex, love, and life – at the deepest level – are functionally identical. 

 So why if our sexuality connects us deeply to our soul do so many of us repress our sexual natures, pushing deep down into the depth of our being and denying ourselves the full experience of the very essence of our self.

 Mainly in the western world sex, sexuality has the stigma of something that we should be ashamed of, throughout our history sex although a mystery has also be blamed as a root to all evil. Our sexuality is indeed a natural part of our humanness, it can take us deep into a world filled with passion, tantalising fantasies and inspire our creative juices, our imagination. To deny our sexuality is therefore to surpress our humanness, of course when we use our sexuality from the stand point of seeking validation or proving our worth in life, the repercussions to our soul can be ultimately destroying and therefore sex can in truth be classed as the root of all evil. It is our relationship to sex that will enable us to transcend and enjoy such beauty that can be found within sex.

Without sexuality, we would be something but not human as we know ourselves and others to be. Sexuality is a passionate spark, deep within, that energizes us for justice-making aswell as love-making. This incredible gift moves us beyond ourselves to connect, to be with, and take pleasure in the company of others. In sustaining this self-other connections, people do not lose themselves so much as realign themselves in their “in-betweenness,” which is home also for the Divine. Chocolate dipped Berries and Gouda Cheese tempters

Ingredients

200g Gouda or Etorki Cheese

200g  Strawberries

200g  Raspberries

200g Blackberries

250g Good quality bitter sweet chocolate

Method

Cut cheese into 1/4" thick slices, and then into 1" squares or triangles. Set aside.
Break the chocolate into small pieces and place into a heat resistant glass bowl, place bowl into a saucepan of boiling water and allow chocolate peices to melt slowly, stir occasionally till all chocolate has liquidfied.
Dip cheese and some of the strawberries halfway into the chocolate, shaking off excess. Place on a sheet pan lined with wax paper to cool and set chocolate. Drizzle chocolate over raspberries and blackberries. Place the entire pan into the freezer for about 10 minutes to fully set the chocolate.
Creatively arrange cheese and fruit on a plate decorated with chocolate.
